The exhibition "Ocean Plastics Lab" arrives in Brussels
Ocean Plastics Lab: April 9 to 19
Every year, nearly 8 million tons of plastic end up in our oceans. This quantity is equivalent to 35 sea containers. All these plastics have dramatic consequences for the marine fauna and flora.
This exhibition aims to:
- to make Europeans aware of the excessive consumption of plastics
- understand this consumption and problems in order to reduce our ecological impact
Ocean Plastics Lab is a traveling European exhibition taking place at the European Parliament's Esplanade Solidarność 1980, from 9 to 19 April. This exhibition aims to highlight the pollution of oceans by plastics and to understand the role of science in combating this growing phenomenon.
Visitors can complete their visit with public conferences to discuss the problem of ocean pollution and know the scientific and civil solutions to address it. These conferences will be held at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences. Find the whole program on the Ocean Plastics Lab website.
It is a project launched by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, with the support of the Directorate General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission and the Intergroup Seas, Rivers, Islands and Coastal areas of the European Parliament, in cooperation with the German Consortium for Marine Research.
