Hotels
Downtown
In Brussels, downtown is not a derogatory term, quite the contrary! The oldest establishments in the capital proudly dominate the town centre. At the Place de Brouckère, along the Rue Royale or merely by the Grand-Place you can sense and experience the Belle Epoque and the roaring twenties, but with modern day comfort.
Uptown
The hotels in the town centre may be closer to the most visited tourist areas, but the uptown hotels - built more recently - will find favour with those keen on shopping. As they are located along the Avenue de la Toison d'Or, the Boulevard de Waterloo and the Avenue Louise, you don't even need to take a taxi to visit the boutiques.
The European Quarter
Don't be fooled into believing that the hotels around the Rond-Point Schuman only attract passing civil servants. The European quarter is also home to many museums and the major squares. When the weather is good, a stroll through the Parc de Bruxelles will take you towards the Grand-Place.
Near the airport
Obviously, the Brussels-National airport, just ten kilometres from the town centre, has several hotels, mainly for busy businessmen. However, the whole region around Brussels is peppered with small, friendly and reasonably-priced establishments.
