Hack Belgium: three days to launch Belgian projects
Hack Belgium presents the 2018 hackathon:
The hackathon is a portmanteau word that includes two terms, there is the term "hack" (action of manipulating data to circumvent existing problems) and the term "marathon" (prolonged test which requires a great resistance, here it's at the level of concentration).
Hack Belgium with its hackathon will bring together around 1,500 people around 12 major challenges at Tour & Taxis. These challenges affect different axes of our society: employment, media, education, energy, etc. The goal of the hackathon and the participants is to achieve a balance between design, technology and business on these axes that affect our society.
The hackathon will have an approach based on: "co-design and collaborative economy, which aims to develop" in fine "inspiring projects that are both carriers of change and business prospects". In order to reach these 12 challenges, Hack Belgium will propose to its 1,500 participants:
- 140 workshops and accompanying sessions
- 200 experts specialized in the various axes proposed
- experts specialized in technology, business creation and design
This event will take place over three days from 26 to 28 April, with days dedicated to: "exploration of possibilities", "development of the initial idea" and "project launch".
