Summer of Photography

Every two years Bozar organizes the Summer of Photography, an international biennial that focuses on photography and related media. Not only does the festival provide the opportunity to discovery modern-day photography, it also looks forward to the future of the image in our culture. "Summer of Photography" is a varied program of exhibitions for specialists, amateurs, and anyone with an interest in photography.

Gender is the common theme for the Summer of Photography 2014.

Exhibitions

Woman. The Feminist Avant-Garde of the 1970s @ Bozar The exhibition brings together 450 works by 29 female artists. In the 1970s, female artists created their own perspective of the “image of the woman." 

Where we're at @ Bozar The exhibition brings together women photographers and video artists of African, Caribbean and Pacific cultural background, developing gender discourse in their art.

Michaël Borremans exhibition @ Bozar This exhibition, containing a hundred works from the last 14 years, allows you to get to know a fascinating artist and offers an overview of his work.
