Memorial Van Damme

This annual meeting is organised as a tribute to a great athlete who died far too young. Every year this event attracts the best track and field athletes in the world to Brussels. The miracle seems to work every year: Belgian, European and even world records are equalled and often broken. Also music isn't lacking. Music alternates with sporting performances and encourages many spectators to dance. Except of course during the interval when all eyes are fixed on the sky for a firework display designed specially for the occasion.
