Michel-Édouard Leclerc has known Alain Huberty and Marc Breyne for more than 30 years. They went together in the 90s to meet such prestigious artists as Comès, Schuiten, Andréas, Manara, Tardi ... Michel-Édouard Leclerc frequent their galleries in Brussels and Paris since their respective creations, also following the auctions that they went up to Millon and then under their own name. Alain Huberty and Marc Breyne honed the eye of collector Michel-Édouard Leclerc by advising him on numerous acquisitions and introducing him to works and artists; giving birth to their common passion for comics, strong and never denied friendships. It was obvious that MEL Publisher turned to them to present their prints and establish a partnership in Belgium. Although France owes a lot to the Belgian comic strip since the mid-1940s, the creation has since partly moved to France. It is therefore natural that bridges develop between these two countries, pools of the comics of yesterday and today. All authors from the comics and published by MEL Publisher will be presented at this exhibition inaugurating this partnership. François Avril, one of the leading artists of the Huberty & Breyne gallery, will have a place apart. A historical artist of the gallery, he has produced no less than 7 lithographs for MEL Publisher, including a large format made especially for this exhibition. Other artists of the gallery will also be represented as Jacques de Loustal, Pascal Rabaté or Edmond Baudoin. Most artists published by MEL Publisher, will be exhibited for the first time on the walls of this prestigious and historic gallery.
