Countdown and fireworks on Place de Brouckère

Back when Jacques Brel sung about it, the place de Brouckère already had an air of Times Square with its collection of commercial bright ads. If most of them disappeared today, the political objective is clear: to make de Brouckère the neuralgic center of Brussels life.
Programme for New Years Eve
Starting at 11pm, people will be invited to gather on the Place de Brouckère and its neighboring boulevards (which will be pedestrian of course) to enjoy several activities: DJ, light and show, interactive wall projections, etc.
Five minutes before midnight, magnifiscent fireworks will lighten up the area from the roof of the Continental Hotel, where the Coca-Cola sign is.
The last floor of the Parking 58 will therefore be a priviliged space to contemplate the explostion of colors in the Brussels sky.
The first hour of the new year will go crazy with a DJ and a light show.
