04 Jul 2015 - 29 Aug 2015
Guided tours of the airport will take you through the premises for two hours ...
Walking tour
You are guided through the public area of the terminal. You receive explanations regarding the construction, capacity and layout of the building. You cross the border control to pass to the B concourse and visit the duty-free zone which is called the "Gallery of Light" with its shops, bars, restaurants and places of worship.
From the top of the "Skyview Lounge", you can observe the aircrafts dock-in, the (un)loading of baggage, meals and drinks, fueling, and the operation of bridges. Your guide explains all those "airside" operations and the future prospects of the airport.
Bus tour
For about an hour, you take a bus tour of the airport area: you drive along the "General Aviation" zone, cross the "Brucargo" cargo area, you proceed along the medical services building and the firefighters station, the Melsbroek military airport, the control tower and the CANAC air traffic control center. Your guide explains what are the facilities and buildings that you see along the way.
