23 Feb 2017 - 04 Mar 2017

Get ready to travel throughout the most surprising, amazing and fantastic worlds. From 13 to 22 February 2015, Anima Festival is the chance for adults and kids to see and discover a wide range of movies. Many movies are subtitled in English if not already in English.
Long feature films competition
This year, the Anima festivities will kick off on February 13th with the latest creation of the British studios Aardam: "Shaun the Sheep Movie". As the ultimate master of clay animation, the British studio is behind animation jewels such as Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit. The story takes us in the universe of the famous sheep and his herd. In this adventure, Shaun decides to leave his farm to discover new places. He unvoluntarely ends up in the city, where plenty of adventures await him.
Among the 20 long films in the competition, you will find a production of the famous Mizuho Nishikubo, The Islandof Giovanni, which received an award at the latest animation festival of Annecy. You can find an overview of all the films in the festival on the Anima site.
Short movies
Every year, Anima tries to find the best short feature films. You will discover the trendiest movies, different international techniques and the directors' artistic daring. The organizers have handpicked 69 productions for you. Here is an overview.
Children's program
Anima never forgets its young public, so they organize showings in the morning and afternoon for them. This year, there will be shows for kids as young as three years old, like the film "Les Moomings sur la Riviera", directed by Xavier Picard.
After the movie, children can enjoy some crepes and participate in workshops, which offer games about animated movies. Coordinated by the associations Zorobabel and Kidscam, these workshops take place every day for children aged 5 to 12.
Focus
This year, Anima will focus on two upcoming countries when it comes to animation: the Netherlands and Latvia. Two countries for two distinct traditions...
