AFROPOLITAN FESTIVAL 2020
28 Feb 2020 - 01 Mar 2020
“Music is the weapon of the future,” said Fela Kuti, the King of Afrobeat. For its fourth edition, from 28 February to 1 March 2020, the AFROPOLITAN FESTIVAL invites artists and audiences to celebrate their heroines and heroes.

Musicians like Fela Kuti, Miriam Makeba or Franco have marked and continue to inspire artists of all ages and backgrounds; just like writer Toni Morrison, who transformed American fiction. Heroes past or present, world famous or anonymous, the 2020 AFROPOLITAN festival invites you to a lavish celebration.
The programme includes concerts such as the one by Zaiko Langa Langa, a slam & rap party, films, performances, debates, a fashion pop-up, fashion shows, workshops, and meetings. A series of artists and intellectuals from more than ten countries (Belgium, Germany, South Africa, Benin, France, Gabon, the Netherlands, DRC, Senegal, the UK, USA) will meet each other.
Two new features mark this edition. First, thanks to its partners, the festival goes beyond the perimeter of the Centre for Fine Arts to vibrate in Matonge and in the centre of Brussels. And secondly, it is inviting other festivals to ‘network’ and to meet the public. Whether they are based in Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris or Ghana. Come and discover these festivals and cross borders between continents, art forms, generations, the past and the future.
With: Zaiko Langa Langa, Inua Ellams, Joy Slam, Bintou Dembele, Prezy, Nadia Beugre, Wasis Diop, Mati Diop, and Singuila.

It’s impossible to talk about culture in Belgium without mentioning the Centre for Fine Arts located in Brussels. Whether it comes to exhibitions, concerts, theater performances, movies or projects concerning literature and architecture, BOZAR will always put originality and innovation first. They prove to keep a finger on the pulse with their varied and sophisticated programme. Besides emphasizing the importance of creation, quality and a rich artistic offering, BOZAR is especially concerned about the total experience of the visitors.
