Winter restaurants
Actually, many restaurants change their menus to suit your winter / hibernation appetites... A table !
Tactic 1 : Play along Winter completely
Winter in Brussels can sometimes be a bit sad, very cold, but never that long. So use those few true winter weeks well and play the game completely!
«Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
Since we've no place to go
Let it snow let it snow let it snow! »
Frank Sinatra
This is the time to forget about your scale and just go for the good stuff, like a traditional raclette or fondue, whether savoyarde (cheese) or bourguignonne (meat). L’R du temps and Au Petit Suisse are the only two real Swiss restaurants in Brussels and they are of course garanteed to fill your stomach with melted cheese.
Unless you'd rather have you food grilled? Now that's another way to survive winter. Another way to go is inspired by the slow food movement, which advocates the use of seasonal products.
Tactic 2 : Warm up
The wood that cracks in the chimney, the hands stuck to the radiator... Perhaps you want to feel in a restaurant like you're at home.
« Cho Ka Ka O
Cho chocolat
Si tu me donnes des noix de coco
Moi je te donne mes ananas »
Annie Cordy
At the Moulin de Lindekemale, the Coach, the Medicis, In de Appelboom or the Auberg’in, don't be shy while you make a reservation: demand to have a table close to the fire place.
And during the summer or winter, don't hesitate to go to Sablon to enjoy the heated terraces of the Vieux Saint Martin or the Rugbyman Two.
Tactic 3 : Let the sunshine in
Are you more the type to be depressed when the weather is depressing? Don't let yourself down! Instead, put some sunshine in your dish so it shines in your heart!
« Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in
The sunshine in
Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in »

There is always sun somewhere in the world. Just make your globe spin and point your finger: Ethiopia (Toukoul), Greece (Ouzerie Mezedopolio), Lebanon (L'Oriento), South America (Los Ponchos), Italy (Osteria Agricola Toscana), Spain (Cueva de Castilla) and many more.
Anf if nothing really can't console you, you can always decide to stay home and have Take Eat Easy deliver you numerous meals that won't have time to get cold!
