So let us introduce you to the Magrittes 2022 with details of the ceremony.
The Magrittes are back to dust off the Covid.
The 2022 edition will be the eleventh in its history. Last year, the Magrittes were cancelled due to the Covid health crisis. But fortunately, this year they are back to reward the best Belgian productions. The event will take place at the Square in Brussels and you can follow it live on La Trois channel at 8.30 pm, and simultaneously on Auvio and TV5 Monde. You will find all kinds of films, feature films or shorts, from a maximum of genres, and from Belgian associations with other countries, or completely Belgian productions. A total of 22 prizes will be awarded during the evening. So you'll have plenty to keep you busy and you'll be able to enjoy the staging of this magnificent event.
A ceremony at the best possible time
With the rain and gloom outside, it's a great time of year to stay at home on the sofa in front of the television. This is an exceptional and high quality programme, there is not much on TV anymore, people prefer to watch Netflix, so for once there is a big event, you can't miss this one. You have to be patriotic and support our Belgian cinema, and precisely if you don't know much about Belgian feature films, this will be the perfect opportunity to learn more about the subject and to arouse a real interest in it. A programme that is suitable for everyone.
A shower of stars
The most famous stars nominated are Benoît Poelvoorde, Virginie Efira, Roméo Elvis and Bouli Lanners. This is the seventh nomination for our national Poelvoorde in the history of the festival and this time in the following category: Best Supporting Actor. While the eyes will be on two films, namely "Une vie démente" by Ann Sirot & Raphaël Balboni which has 12 nominations, the most nominated film of the festival, and "Un monde" by Laura Wandel which is nominated in 10 categories. Both are in the best film category, with "Un monde" the overwhelming favourite. Also up for Best Film are Fabrice du Welz's "Adoration", Frédéric Fonteyne & Anne Paulicevich's "Filles de joie" and Joachim Lafosse's "Les intranquilles". The Belgian stars will be there and will animate this evening to impress you as much as possible.
