On 'Keep On Your Mean Side' from 2003 and 'No Wow' from 2005 The Kills set out to free 'rock 'n' roll of all its frills'.
This duo of Jamie Hince (stage name: Hotel, nationality: British) and Alison Mosshart (stage name: VV, nationality: American) has brought out a new CD entitled 'Midnight Boom'. And if we are to believe its forerunner/single 'U.R.A. Fever' they are still on the same mission: sparse, going for the throat, soaking up the history of pop, glam, blues, art-punk and hip hop. This time Spank Rock producer Alex Epton a.k.a. Armani XXXchange has treated the bare atmosphere typical of The Kills' sound rhythmically - making 'Midnight Boom' an ultra-contemporary sound document.
