Music lovers will already have noticed. 50 years of pop music, by now that means an unbelieveable number of great performers... and live too there's - euh - music in it. It gets a heap of bands moving to once again jump on stage, one more time for their fans. So too 5 Brits called THE GODFATHERS. For those who prefered to stylishly dress themselves in black at the end of the 80's, this was the Saturday-night soundtrack.
Established by the Coyne brothers in 1985, they did well in Belgium from the beginning and for several years after, with their no-nonsense rock. The raw lyricism of singer Peter Coyne and the punk rock style that they stylishly presented were their greatest assets. The album 'Birth, School, Work, Death' also became an instant classic. Later they delivered two more impressive albums: 'More Songs About Love and Hate' (1989) and 'Unreal World' (1991). As a matter of fact, a double CD will be released around the same time: an extended version of their debut EP 'Hit By Hit' supplemented by other singles and a number of their BBC Radio 1 recordings. For those who want to once again unrestrainedly shout along 'Birth, School, Work, Death', 'Cause I Said So' and 'She Gives Me Love', this is the perfect opportunity.
