The Brussels' Port Festival
The Port of Brussels' 13th Festival is a unique opportunity to discover or rediscover the Brussels Port in a festive and family atmosphere. Dozens of attractions, spread over 10,000 m² between the quay of Heembeek and the Béco Basin, will be at the public's disposal for the entire day and all free of charge.
The program
There will be something for everyone, no matter your age. The key element of "the port party" is no doubt the presence of the great ships, witnesses of the great seas. This year, Brussels will welcome the Belgica, the famous research vessel... Come and take a look at the windsock, and learn about the winds at sea on the other side of the world, or try out the skimparc and go for a surf on the water... You could also attend one of the exciting children's workshops and learn to climb the mast or go diving...
There will be demonstrations of all sorts of water-related activities (environment, leisure, etc.), as well as numerous exhibitions including the "Port of Brussels and the sea" tracing the history of the Port and Canal, and "100 years of Radio Laeken", a photo exhibition on the biodiversity of the Senne canal area.
Nautical activities for all
You could even take part in the demonstrations: jet skiing, lifesaving dogs and rowing, and many more. There will be live music throughout the day. Some of the headline acts include the Marina Jazz Ensemble, the Mâles de Mer, and the Krakens.
Every effort has been made to make this day run smoothly: bike parking, car parking, shuttle buses and water buses linking the two event spaces, all free of charge. Various stands will be selling food and drink, not to mention Belgian specialties and seafood. So come and spend a memorable day at a seaside festival... in the Port of Brussels!
Dance to the rhythm of Hermia/tassin Quartet, Swing O box, Shantykoor de Blankenberge and the Combo Jazz of the Navy. Their music will be retransmitted along the quays so you can sway to the sound of their voices, guitars, and bass.
And so much more...
Among the numerous activities, children will be able to become treasure hunters, or kite and instrument-makers while parents can enjoy the view. Parents and children will discover the joys of underwater diving thanks to huge tanks situated on the quays. And do not hesitate to take a boat ride to relay one port to another. Diverse stands will provide with drinks and food. Everything is ready for you to have an awesome day.
