St-art, the 13th Strasbourg Contemporary Art Fair, will be taking place at the Wacken Exhibition Centre from 21st to 24th November 2008, with preview night on 20th November.
Strasbourg Evénements, the event organiser, will be pursuing its aim of making St-art a keystone event in the French cultural landscape. As every year since 2005, St-art confirms its position as a European Fair by paying particular homage to countries belonging to the European Union. And 2008 is the year of Central and Eastern Europe. It is a prime opportunity to highlight a rich cultural heritage and give an overview of the current creative trends in these countries.
St-art is also the only French fair to welcome galleries from all regions in France. Many of today's acknowledged artists have been launched on the road to success by these professionals, thereby underlining the impact of decentralisation.
St-art prides itself on being accessible to all and, setting aside all taboos and elitism, the Fair is open to all publics from total novices to enlightened art lovers. The main artistic trends of the last fifty years will be represented, but young artists will also be highlighted in all forms of expression under the "New Profile" label, so that everyone can discover emerging talent at prices that are still affordable.
