The sheer power of the 2004 performance of Vivaldi's Orlando furioso by the Ensemble Matheus is impossible to describe.
Jean-Christoph Spinosi is a master in the expression of feeling and he has surrounded himself with singers to match - some of whom are already familiar to us. He now leads his ensemble in another Vivaldi opera, La fida ninfa, a work of the great Venetian composer's maturity.
