Winter Charms: for those who like the winter sports, of course, but who also like to discover the traditions of the area, the charming little mountain villages, its gastronomy, and so on.
In the second category, for those who are looking for the area's particular charm, the stations of Gets and Morzine come to the fore.
For those who like mountain pastures, cheeses and red and white chequered tablecloths, Gets would be ideal: typically Savoyard, this village has known how to preserve its traditions and consequently a warm welcome. Without however neglecting the "winter sports", aspect but from the family point of view and fairly "soft". Departure from village and back on skis, and family skiing. Les Gets :: www.lesgets.com
Morzine offers the same kind of infrastructure, mixing Savoyard traditions and a warm welcome, but offers more interesting sporting possibilities. One can spot a gold label in the "Pass' Gourmet", a small guide that reveals all the good addresses to be discovered all along the pistes of the Portes du Soleil slopes. Combining the pleasures of the table with the pleasures of the slopes - just superb! Morzine :: www.morzine.com
