At just 24 years of age, the German-Japanese pianist Alice Sara Ott has already won international fame. Under the baton of Stefan Blunier, she takes on the Grieg Piano Concerto, whose composer was her age when he wrote the work in 1868.
His dramatic Norwegian sonorities and breathtaking lyricism make a perfect match for Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony, whose dark, melancholytheme finally lights up triumphantly, and The Swan of Tuonela, inspiredby the Kalevala, in which the cor anglais, symbolising the swan, plays a key role.
