Two maids love and hate both their mistress, Madame. They denounced her lover (sir) by anonymous letters. Jean Genet, the great poet and petty thief, was inspired of a bloody publicized news item in 1933 (the famous Crime of the Papin sisters). Since its creation in 1947 by Louis Jouvet, this room has become the work "flagship" of the wildest and most provocative playwrights of the twentieth century ... 30 years after creating the piece as an actor in the role of Solange Bernard Damien took advantage not only to give the role of Madame to a man (to accentuate the ambiguity of the power relationship between the characters) but also to situate the action of the theatrical ceremony in the cold world and a stylish contemporary art gallery ... which would be released from dangerous wild animals escaped from a circus nearby.
