2008 should bring the great breakthrough for the Dutch dance collective KRAAK & SMAAK. They've already come far with that playful name: their debut 'Boogie Angst' yielded them fans worldwide, they performed as support to Faithless through Europe and in America they were able to play a number of leading festivals like Coachella.
When they played at 10 Days Off, De Morgen (the paper where their debut received 4 stars) capitalized: 'The seven member band played groovy funk, conjured with breakbeats and had a fine singer at their disposal'. Their international success also resulted in remix work for Jamiroquai, Richard Dorfmeister and 4Hero.
The producer-trio from Leiden now presents a follow-up once again inspired by jazz, hip hop, funk, new wave and breakbeat. As special guests they've been able to snare a number of impressive vocalists: Stones Throw hero Dudley Perkins, jazz legend Carmel, Ben Westbeech and also Mark Brydon from Moloko.
