The new university year is fast approaching and finding suitable accommodation is becoming urgent. No simple matter, because these days, the best offers have already been grabbed.
The ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles) has a highly efficient accommodation service. Although the university residences (better value for money) have been displaying their “Full” signs for several months, some private offers are still available. By applying directly to the ULB Accommodation Office (Office du Logement de l’ULB - Campus du Solbosch - 22, Avenue Paul Héger - bldg. F1 – 02/650 21 73) or by consulting their website (www.ulb.ac.be), you can get a wealth of specialist advice and a regularly updated list of digs. Other sites specialising in this field, such as www.student.be and most estate agents, have several bachelor flats, digs or student rooms on offer. Lastly, if these services have not come up with anything, the best solution still remains to don some comfortable shoes and to survey the streets close to the university, armed with a notepad and a mobile phone.
