An everlasting, timeless blues! And long may it continue. Recently he made his tribute to Freddie King: 'In The Palace Of The King' (here via Pias). And at the very least his site also features a nice, educational blues archive with creditable references. But here we reiterate the praise given at the packed AB in the spring of 06.
John Mayall is a living legend. And living is the word, in view of his unstoppable tours and releases. With tens of LPs and CDs since the mid 60s, including that genuine 'novelty' hit in '69: the compellingly cheerful 'Room To Move'. His Bluesbreakers have always been hailed as one of the most renowned schools of blues - particularly live. Heroes such as Eric Clapton, Peter Green and Mick Taylor started out there before going on to Cream, Fleetwood Mac, Free and other Rolling Stones... And in the meantime this multi-facetted Brit has moved to California, from where he has been touring the world with new and talented Bluesbreakers since the 80s. In the autumn of 2008 he will finally be back at the AB - for a Bluesbreak!
