The Belgian Indoor has long since disappeared from the Forest National's schedule, the Antwerp and Hasselt tournaments are living from hand to mouth following the retirement of Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters. And yet Belgian tennis is in pretty good shape! With a prize of $10,000, the Iris Ladies Trophy is profiled as the anteroom between the junior tournaments and the main WTA circuit.
Memory will recall that it was here that Kim Clijsters had scored her first points. This $10,000 provides an ideal opportunity for experiencing a tournament on a human scale: you are guaranteed a good game as per the various legs of the Grand Slam, plus proximity and an environment that is well worth a detour! And, icing on the cake, entry is free!
