A single gala evening offering a sample of the best of today's flamenco. Manolo Franco is one of the greats of the flamenco guitar: as Paco de Lucía has observed, “thoroughly inspired, scintillating guitar-playing, full of new ideas, complete technical perfection...”
Rising star Antonio Pitingo has been called an “eclectic cocktail-shaker”, but he remains, above all, an exceptional interpreter of the purest cante flamenco. After the interval a living legend of flamenco dance, Manuela Carrasco, takes to the stage with an ensemble of more than 20 dancers and musicians to present Romalí. For this production, which harks back to flamenco's Indian roots, Carrasco has joined forces with the Indian dancer Maha Akhtar. Can't wait for more southern rhythms and dance? Then make a note of our next flamenco festival - in May 2008 - in your diary now.
