Cecilia Bartoli surely needs no introduction. Since 2000 the Italian diva has been almost an annual guest at the Centre for Fine Arts. And yet she continues to surprise us, again and again.
Not just with her spectacular voice, but also with her carefully thought-out programmes, often based on a theme that offers a glimpse of a hidden aspect of musical history. This year her new project, entitled Mission, sees her join forces with the Kammerorchesterbasel in a Classical repertoire in which we don't hear her so often - except in Mozart operas.
