Camping in Brussels
The luxury of a comfortable bed and a soft duvet is of little excitement for you. Even in the city, you are always searching for a piece of land in which to build your camp. That's great ! Camping in Brussels is not an impossible task ...
Freshly arrived on Brussels land, tent on your back, you start looking for a location to install your camp for a few days. In the city center, one site only will offer this privilege. And if you're looking for a more secluded place, two other campsites await you in the periphery.
In the city center
Neatly tucked between the chaussée de Wavre and the Viaduc street, the camping Ciel Ouvert welcomes campers in the "La Viale Europe" garden. From the street, you can't guess anything. Inside, the change of scenery is guaranteed. At the Brussels camping, you will quickly forget that you are in the heart of Ixelles, a stone's throw from the Royal Palace and the European Parliament. The place is comfortable and well equipped. For fans of grilling, a barbecue is made available to campers.
Beware, the camping is only open during the two summer months, from July 1 to August 31. The night will cost 7 euros per person and per tent. Motorhomes and camping-cars are not allowed. But do not panic ! It is possible to book a private parking for 12 euros per day.
How to get there ? From Brussels-Midi station, you can simply take the metro to the Trône station and then walk 10 minutes down the street of the same name. From the airport, take bus number 12 (or 21) and from the central station, the bus line 38.
On the outskirts
More difficult to reach by public transport, the campings in the Brussels periphery nevertheless provide the advantage of being surrounded by nature.
Located in the woods of Wezembeek-Oppem, the Camping Caravaning Club BrusselsBrussels is specially designed for athletes with its sports fields and cyclotourists routes. Vacationers can combine leisure and culture as the center of Brussels is only 15 minutes away by car. The campground is open from April 1 to September 30.
The Grimbergen municipality also has a camping. . For a tent, caravan or motorhome, the site is open from April 1 to October 31. You will have the opportunity to enjoy a green setting, nearby restaurants and an outdoor pool while remaining a few minutes drive from the capital. A bus stop can be found 200m from the campsite and will take you right into the center of Brussels. You can also stroll to the village market on Sunday morning and relax at the Grimbergen thermae.
The Druivenland Camping, overlooking the Lane valley at Overijse, was formerly open to passing campers. Unfortunately, today, it only proposes yearly rentals. However, if the region is particularly close to your heart, you can try your luck at the camping Welcome from April 1 to the end of October, located a little further north of Overijse.
