Last summer, Guillaume Prébois shook the cycling world : nobody was left indifferent by his 'clear water only' Tour de France. The usuals, the experienced amateurs and other sporting professionals were left speechless by him meeting his challenge in 2008 : to undertake the three big courses within the same year...on clear water of course !
An experienced amateur
An experienced amateur, cycling on average 25.000 kilometres per year, Guillaume wanted to discover his own response to Boonen's shattering declaration about the 2006 Tour : "someone normal would have finished the day in hospital". July 2007. A Tour de France later, Guillaume cemented his own opinion by completing the course a day ahead of the professionals, fully respecting sporting ethics which are too often neglected in the peloton. 2008 season. To make the demonstration more convincing, to shake up the cycling world a little bit more, to establish the truth : Guillaume Prébois sets himself an even more crazy challenge : to undertake the three major courses?on clear water of course ! Born in Paris, Guillaume went to school in the suburbs?He received his first racing bike for his 12th birthday, several laurels picked up in regional races, several plaques here and there, a season as attaché de presse with Lampre, a move to Italy?Working together with RTL, the Parisien, Le Monde, RFI, Infosport and? the RTBF. Guillaume therefore works by proxy in Brussels, where some of his family live. It is the ideal starting point for the Flemish and Ardennes classics?BrusselsLife went to meet him?
