This coming March 11th, Barbara Hendricks will be on stage at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels together with the Magnus Lindgren Quartet. The world famous lyrical artist and the Swedish quartet will celebrate Billie Holiday among other great names of the world of jazz. This exceptional concert is organised by the NGO Louvain Développement, and will benefit the organisation's projects in Africa, Latin America and Asia.
Barbara Hendricks is considered as one of the most prominent and active lyrical artist of her generation. Born in Arkansas, she often mention jazz and this particular music is very much an integral part of her current activities.
Ms Hendricks has received numerous awards for her artistic achievements and her humanitarian work: she has been named Honorary Ambassador For Life by the UNHCR and founded the "Barbara Hendricks Foundation for Peace and Reconciliation".
The NGO Louvain Développement is specialised in the field of food security and health, micro finance and health insurance programmes. The organisation supports more than 30 projects towards populations in need on three continents, Africa, Latin America and Asia.
