BaliMurphy is back with his words, tunes, personal approach and iron will. The band keeps going as far as possible. "La Déroute", the 4th album of this atypical group will be out in February 2012.
"La Déroute" was recorded by the well-known Rudy Coclet (Arno, Sharko, Mud Flow) at the famous Jet Studio in Brussels and directed by Kris Dane (Ghinzu's former guitarist). "We wanted Kris to urge us and makes us try new way to work, different from the ones we used on our last album Poussières. Not because we wanted to forget the past but because we wanted to go ahead". Now electric touches have been added to the folk moods which contributed to the splendor of Poussières released in 2008. Today, BaliMurphy offers 12 new original songs, written and composed according to the 'French chansons', following the "three B's" tradition (Brel, Brassens, Bashung) but livened up with English influences.
The album "La Déroute" makes people happy and opens the door to people who want to go farther. This new CD offers a topical subject, painted in a dark atmosphere but where light and hopes are at the end of the road. "This is a kind of outlet to us", said Cédric Van Caillie, the singer/guitarist of the band. "There is a real need of expressing sad and untouchable subjects. Which also brings us some satisfaction. However out dark side is always counterbalanced by the music and the way we perform our songs on stage".
