Every other year the museum organises this grandiose event which is in its 7th edition this year! Africa Tervuren has become a pretty much obligatory date in the social diary of young and old within the African communities, the diaspora, and all those who have a place in their heart for Africa.
Cultural cross-pollination and art (from street art to Art with a capital A) are the keywords of the programme that is a varied offering of concerts, dance, theatre and workshops. As usual there will be numerous fun activities for the children!
An exceptional atmosphere
The starring act will be Pegguy Tabu, the talented son of Tabu Ley. He is head of an ensemble which is also made up of the prodigious guitar player Olivier Tshimanga. People will be given the chance to get up and dance to the irresistible "Congolese Rumba"; played in Tshimanga's own inimitable style. To be continued
This year's theme takes inspiration from the two temporary exhibitions. In 'Fetish Modernity' the modern object is examined from an original angle, "Artists in Residence. Sammy Baloji &Patrick Mudekereza" displays the creations of these artists who were in residence in the autumn of 2010. There is also the festive opening of the "LUMINOUS" exhibition, the creative project with as theme: Create a lamp! Africa < > Tervuren, don't miss it whatever you do!Did you like this article?
