A new environmentally responsible market
Evening markets are becoming more and more popular in Brussels! After the local ‘marché du terroir’ in Etterbeek, the organic ‘marché bio’ at the Place du Luxembourg, it’s on the rue de l'Enseignement (behind the federal Parliament) that you’ll find vendors waiting for you every Thursday from 12pm to 8pm, for a ‘Gourmet Rendez-vous’..
Local and organic
From the fruits, the vegetables, the meat, the charcuterie, the cheese and even the bread, all these products have one thing in common – they are directly sourced or sourced from organic agriculture. We place equal importance on short travelling distance and responsible production.
Environmentally responsible
The market also defines itself as being environmentally responsible. This includes several principles – the unsold produce is redistributed to food aid associations, the vendors offer paper or recyclable bags to customers who have not brought a tote bag, and recycling points are made available to the public and producers.
A glass between friends
Above all, the market remains an amicable place to gather and meet friends. After having done the grocery shopping, you can grab a glass in one of the biodynamic wine stalls, or a beer produced in a microbrewery. .
