A canter @ Bois de la Cambre
There's two possibilities for horse-riding : either you own your own horse or you take lessons and you have a stable horse at your disposal. For now on, there's a third possibility : a new pony-ride has opened at Bois de la Cambre, the Brussels Poney Club. Renting is now possible. A stroll of 10 minutes will cost 5 euros.
Brussels Poney Club
This establishment opened just in time for the nice weather. The City of Brussels has leased the concession to the non-profit organisation for the creation and development of the pony-ride. The main activity of this organisation is the education and insertion of minor mentally-disabled people but lessons are offered to the children who wish to learn this elegant art. The installations were designed for the animals well-being. The pony-ride is located Allée des Amazones near the Théâtre de Poche. But to avoid any inconvenience, the horses will not sleep in the woods but in a meadow nearby.
Centre équestre du Bois de la Cambre
If you're more traditionnal, the horse-riding centre is also available. Built in the 1920's, it has been bought recently by Jean Francois Reygaert. The centre is located on the edge of Bois de la Cambre and offers different formulas: collective ride, individual lessons, acrobatic lessons, fence jumping lessons or you could play horseball. No need to be professionals to ride horses, the different places train the newcomers or perfect the "regulars". There's nothing better than a horse ride to make children and parents happy.
